The Déli

In the heart of Amsterdam, you’ll find the Róhe design studio, situated in The Déli, a classic yet modern environment that embodies the transition to a new path.

The Déli is a historical icon and located at one of the most beautiful parts of the canal belt, and is part of Unesco World Heritage.

A creative place on the canals, characterized by the many bridges and the serene water. The building was erected in 1875, since then the monument has had different functions but has never lost its original character.

The building has a modern construction with a concrete skeleton, although this is nowhere to be seen from the inside or outside. In 1920 the entire building was reconstructed by the Dutch architect A.D.N. van Gendt. The facade has all the design features of the Amsterdam School style, which is related to Art Deco.

The reflection of the light in the stairwell is created by the authentic stained glass windows. Neoclassical features are visible in a nuanced grey-blue glazed ceramic tile with an integrated wave motif. The grid of patterns and repetitions creates an impressive atmosphere as you enter the building.

The garden has a very natural style, in which sustainability and biodiversity play an important role. Using local plants, art and the seasons as inspiration.
