Sales Merchandiser
The role
We are looking for a commercially minded Sales Merchandiser to own the planning, buying, trading and optimisation of our global direct-to-consumer business across retail, e-commerce and future concessions.
The Sales Merchandiser will translate the seasonal collection strategy into channel-level plans growing the DTC structure while help establishing the merchandising framework. This is a full-time position based at Róhe's studio in Amsterdam
Responsibilities
- Seasonal Planning & OTB
- Own and manage Open-to-Buy plans across retail, e-commerce and concessions, establishing clear KPIs by channel.
- Build category, product, price-point and delivery level plans aligned with seasonal and commercial strategy.
- Develop and drive the buying strategy by channel, balancing commercial opportunity, customer relevance while driving the creative integrity of the collection.
- Forecast sales and inventory requirements to support retail expansion and new channel opportunities.
- Own stock allocation and replenishment across channels to maximize availability and full-price selling.
- Translate forecasts into buying, fabric and production requirements, with particular focus on long-lead-time qualities.
Trading
- Analyze sales, sell-through, stock cover, availability, margin and rate of sale across the channels.
- Build a clear understanding of performance by market, customer, category and product to inform assortment strategies.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure customer and trading insights inform future collections, while balancing historical performance with future opportunity.
- Build a detailed understanding of the customer through quantitative and qualitative insight, feeding customer behavior and product opportunities into future range planning.
- Identify brand signatures and hero products, maximizing their lifecycle maximizing full-price opportunity.
Stock Management
- Manage inventory across all DTC channel.
- Establish optimum stock levels and cover by channel.
- Maintain heathy availability across key products and sizes to maximize sales while building stronger size-curve and depth learnings.
- Own the markdown strategy, recommending timing and discount depths against commercial targets.
- Forecast markdown performance and manage end-of-season inventory exit strategies.
Profile
- 5+ years of experience in Sales Merchandising, Retail Merchandising, Buying or a comparable commercial role, ideally within luxury or high-end fashion.
- Strong experience across retail and/or e-commerce, with a proven understanding of assortment planning, SKU-level forecasting, OTB, buying, stock management and trading.
- Highly analytical and commercially minded, with the ability to turn sales, stock and customer insights into clear decisions.
- Strong understanding of luxury fashion, product and the international market, with a sharp commercial and product eye.
- Strong market and competitive awareness, with the ability to identify and translate opportunities for Róhe.
- Highly organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Business, Merchandising, Economics or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
